Position: Deputy Mayor in charge of Tourism, Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, City of Paris
Elected as a member of the Council of Paris in 2010, Jean-François Martins was spokesperson for the Democratic Party in that assembly and was also appointed Head of Communication for François Bayrou during his campaign for the presidential election in 2012.
He was reelected to the Council of Paris in 2014 and Mayor Anne Hidalgo appointed him Deputy Mayor in charge of Tourism & Sports.
In this capacity, Jean-François Martins supervises the Paris Visitors Office & Convention Bureau and is in charge of setting the Paris tourism strategy, including issues related to the Eiffel Tower and hotel accommodation. As the elected official in charge of sports, he also leads on the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
