Position: CEO, Direct Access
Steven Mifsud MBE is the Founder and Director of international award-winning disability accessibility consultancy Direct Access which operates out of both the UK and the US. Direct Access was born out of Steven’s passion for inclusivity following his struggles as a deaf cochlear implant user. He was identified as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK. Last year, Steven was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain in recognition of his achievements which includes working towards a more inclusive world.
Steven was the Project Director for Universal Design at the world exposition Expo 2020 Dubai, then for the duration of the event became the Director of Accessibility. One of his many career highlights include consulting for London 2012 as part of the step free programme. Currently leads on accessibility projects in the UK, US, Saudi Arabia, France and UAE. He talks inclusion on the International Speaking circuit and was also part of the audio-visual narration for the Tokyo Paralympics.
