Chen Hailiang

Position: Principal Architect, Wanda Cultural Tourism Planning & Research Institute

Born in Hainan, RIBA and ARB-registered architect Chen Hailiang graduated from the London Architectural Association School in 2006, where he won the Alvin Boyarsky Scholarship.

At the famous Wilkinson Eyre Architects in London he was one of the main designers of the Guangzhou Twin Towers (now Guangzhou International Finance Centre). This project won the RIBA 2012 Lubetkin Prize.

From 2006 to 2011 he worked for Populous, participating in the design and completion of London's 2012 Olympic Main Stadium. After completing the Olympic stadium project, he joined Foster and Partners in the UK, where he was responsible for projects including Lingshui Golf Club in Hainan, China and Apple Computers’ headquarters in Canada.

His work “Reef Surface Mobile Islands” won first prize in the International Competition “Environmental Tectonics”.

His “ResoNet-Action Network” was awarded first prize in Korea's international “Bright LED” Competition by the Mayor of Gwangju.
