After graduating from The University of Glasgow, Martin worked at Sportcal from 2004 to 2019, becoming Online News Editor in 2014. He moved to Lausanne in 2007 to forge closer ties with international and continental federations, before setting up an office in Glasgow ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2014 Ryder Cup and 2018 European Championships.
