Billy Garrett
Position: Director of Culture, Tourism & Events, Glasgow Life
Building on Glasgow’s position among the world’s top five sporting cities, Billy is responsible for managing one of the most significant public sport services in the UK.
He directs Glasgow’s sporting events strategy, including working with global sports federations to attract major championships, and was the strategic lead for the city’s inaugural 2018 European Championships, the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2019, and the city’s role as a host destinations for UEFA Euro 2020.
In 2016/17, more than one million people attended events delivered or supported by Glasgow Life, breaking new ground in creative and experiential event delivery while supporting city strategies and economic growth
