Consuelo Sanchez

Consuelo Sanchez joined Florida’s Sports Coast (FSC), formerly known as Visit Pasco, in 2015. In 2017, as a testament to her outstanding contributions, Consuelo was promoted to Sports Development & Tourism Manager; and in 2022, in recognition to her exceptional capabilities, she was appointed as the Tourism Deputy Director, underscoring her consistent growth and leadership within the organization. Throughout her tenure at FSC, Consuelo has displayed remarkable competence in sports tourism sales and has made significant administrative contributions to the Pasco County Destination Management Organization (DMO). This included overseeing critical affairs involving the Tourist Development Council and Board of County Commissioners. She has also been a vital collaborator, assisting the DMO Executive Director and actively participating in developing the Florida’s Sports Coast brand identity. Her efforts have significantly boosted national and international awareness of the FSC brand. In addition to her educational background in Business Administration attained in Colombia, Consuelo holds certifications in Sports Tourism Strategist, Hospitality & Tourism Management, and Post-Crisis Leadership. In 2023, she achieved accreditation as a Certified Autism Travel Professional, emphasizing her dedication to inclusivity and accessibility in tourism. Consuelo's proactive engagement with industry tradeshows and conferences over the past eight years has been instrumental in establishing and nurturing relationships with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and event planners. During this period, she successfully positioned Florida’s Sports Coast as a premier destination for amateur and youth sports events. Working in close collaboration with key stakeholders in the hospitality industry, Consuelo ensures that event planners and attendees have an exceptional experience when visiting FSC. Consuelo, originally from Colombia, moved to the U.S. 10 years ago with her family. She brought with her over two decades of experience in project management and business development. Her expertise has been pivotal in attracting and securing national and international events to Pasco County, Florida. In addition to her professional achievements, Consuelo deeply cherishes the memories of her beloved family and eagerly looks forward to creating new ones. She is a devoted wife to Kevin and a loving mother to three wonderful daughters—Natalia, a daughter who remains forever in her heart, Allison, and Juliana. Though Natalia, her eldest daughter, is no longer present, her enduring presence serves as an unwavering source of inspiration, propelling Consuelo to pursue her professional endeavors and make a meaningful impact. Allison and Juliana, a constant reminder of love and resilience, further inspire Consuelo to honor Natalia's memory and leave a lasting legacy.
