Rebecca Edser
Position: Senior Major Events Consultant, UK Sport
Rebecca has been on the front line of the major events industry in the UK as it has developed over the last decade to its current status as one of the world’s leading event hosting nations.
She works with national governing bodies during the feasibility, bidding and staging of events to ensure they are delivered to a world leading level.
UK Sport’s Major Events programme was born from the UK’s bid to host the London 2012 Games and it aims to ensure that the UK reputation as a leading host nation of sports events is maintained. UK Sport have helped secure a number of the world’s top sporting events including 2016 World Track Cycling, the 2017 IAAF and IPC World Athletics Championships, 2018 Women’s Hockey World Cup, 2019 Netball World Cup, 2019 World Road Cycling Championships, 2020 World Men’s Curling Championships and the Rugby League World Cup 2021.
Rebecca has prior experience of working at London 2012, EventScotland and Scottish Rugby. She holds a degree from Edinburgh University.
