Robert Datnow

Position: Co-Founder and Managing Director, The Sports Consultancy

Robert trained at one of the world’s largest law-firms, Linklaters, before joining the British Olympic Association as its head of legal through the Sydney Olympic cycle and the early days of the London 2012 Olympic bid. He became a partner at Farrer & Co., and then global director of the Laureus Sport for Good foundation before establishing The Sports Consultancy with Angus Buchanan in 2006.

As co-founder and joint Managing Director of The Sports Consultancy, Robert leads the rights holder commercial strategy, host venue acquisition, city and government consulting and commercial legal teams, providing smart solutions and maximising commercial returns for international federations, major event owners and public sector clients.

The Sports Consultancy works with some of the world's most recognised events, governments and rights holders, creating long-term commercial and organizational strategies; packaging, valuing, structuring and selling sponsorship, broadcasting and hosting rights; increasing value; deal-making; and creating, optimising and owning events.
