Sandra Wall - Host City speaker

Sandra Wall

Position: Creative industries, Event and Meetings, Norrköping Municipality – UNESCO City of Music & Creative Cities Network

After working for the culture and media industries in Sweden for 20 years Sandra Wall was headhunted to become an active part of her home-town development connected to music, sustainability and creative industries in Norrköping, just south of Stockholm.

As the focal point for the UNESCO City of Music process since 2017, she is in charge of the glocal work to make the music community, the creative sector, events and meetings work as a driving force for growth and social sustainability-but also to achieve the SDGs as well as municipal goals and visions.

For example, the global awareness project for gender equality in Music Cities, EQ started in Norrköping. The city is also part of development programs like the Ecuropean Music Policy Exchange and legacy work for convention bureaus.

Norrköping is the only UNESCO Creative City of Music in the Nordics and hosted festivals like Bråvalla, global conferences like Music Cities Forum and showcase festivals like Where’s the Music and Future Echoes. Norrköping is also the host of national and international sports events and in 2023 the European Choir Games.
